WHY MAKE ART?
Throughout ancient times and in remote corners of the world, even when conditions are most precarious, the urge to create beauty is powerful. From the simplest to the most complex expressions, using minimal tools or forged gold, evolutionists, creationists, and humanists agree that art is an intrinsic part of being human. Art can portray a personal and alternative way of seeing and translate that inner-born image to others. Making art, we engage a non-linear internal memory bank and if we are effective in portraying our inner world, we can influence a new way of seeing for the viewer. Van Gogh gives us a new way of seeing a field a wheat or an iris. Andy Warhol has changed forever the way we see a Campbell’s soup can and other objects of commodity. Visionary art describes images that spring from the deep, sub, and semi-conscious realms and often refers to images that connect the artist and viewer with Divine Spirit.
“Visionary mystical experiences are humanity’s most direct contact with God and are the creative source of all sacred art and wisdom traditions. The best currently existing technology for sharing the mystic imaginal realms is a well-crafted artistic rendering by an eye witness.”
